A Defense Directorate agent is forced to kill a member of the group of interstellar assassins known as the Legion of Death out of self-defence; learning of the death of their comrade, the leader of the notorious gang of killers, Kellogg, decides to retaliate by targeting the city of New Chicago for destruction. Buck hears of the scheme to detonate New Chicago’s matter / antimatter energy plant and immediately becomes concerned over the fate of his home city; he disguises himself as one of the assassins and manages to infiltrate the group - but his attempts to put an end to their plan are quickly stopped when Kellogg discovers that he is an impostor…
